Christmas Family day at the Tennis Club

Hello All,

Just to let members who have children know that the tennis club is hoping to have a Christmas Family day on Sunday the 12th of December (provisional at the moment) between 3pm and 6pm.
Santa will be making a visit, bouncy castles and face painting on the day too. kids meals will be available for 4 euro- so mums and dads...take a well earned break from cooking the sunday dinner and join in a fun filled afternoon. Parental presence required with children. More details to follow.

Adult tennis lessons

Hello everyone,

Did you know that you can now get 5 professional tennis lessons for just 50 euro over 5 weeks from our club coach Alan McCormack. Lesson groups usually include 4 people and each lesson lasts one hour. Its a great way to get into tennis or improve your game and meet some new people.

Well done to our special olympic badminton athletes

Congratulations to our special olympics Badminton athletes who won 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals at the special olympics Irish Games held at the weekend. There will be a reception on Thursday the 17th of June in honour of their achievements at the tennis club at 7.30pm. Everyone is very much welcome- Please support

Closure of tennis courts

Just a notice to members that the six tennis courts will be closed for essential maintenence from Monday the 7th of June until Saturday the 12th of June. No play will be possible during these dates. Sorry for any inconveniance caused.

West of Ireland Championships

Hello all,

Just a reminder that the West of Ireland Tennis Championship starts this May Bank holiday weekend. Best of luck to all the players taking part. A great weekend is in store for all. If you are a member or non member and you are not taking part in the tournament you can still come down and watch and enjoy the play and have an enjoyable relaxing drink in the bar, michael will only be to happy to look after you. There is also a BBQ on Sunday evening put on by celebrated local chef Michael Whelan which will be great craic, tickets are €15 and can be got from any member of the organising committee or ask Michael at the Bar. Finally a big thank you to the West of Ireland organising committee who have put in a huge amount of work as usual, indeed as they do each year in organising the tournament and helping to make the weekend a great success.

Sligo Tennis Club 25th Anniversary Ball

Just a reminder that the Tennis Club is holding its 25th Anniversary Fundraising Ball in the Radisson Hotel, Ballincar on Friday the 16th of April. Drinks at reception 7.30 pm followed by dinner at 8pm. Auction will also be held. Music by The Brian McDermott Band and disco till late. Black tie. Tickets €75 per person. St.Patricks day mixed doubles

Just a reminder that there is a St. Patricks day mixed doubles event at the tennis club at 7pm. There are still places available so why not put your name down and have a bit of craic on the night. Many thanks to Tobergal Lane Cafe for kindly sponsoring the event.

Haiti Mixed doubles event: Saturday 13th March at 7pm

Hi everyone,

A mixed doubles event in aid of the Clodagh Murray Haven fund for Haiti will be held at the tennis club on Saturday the 13th of March at 7pm. This event is kindly sponsored by The Hair Lounge in Caltragh.

Minimum fee to play is €20 and all proceeds go to help the people in Haiti. A great evening should be had by all and snacks will be served afterwards in the Bar. There is still several spots available for men so come down and sign up your name and help raise money for a very worthy cause.

Alternatively, if you cant play on the night, why not make a donation anyway. Put your donation in an envelope marked 'mixed doubles haiti haven event' and leave it into the club office for collection. A big thank you to Marina and everyone else who has kindly organised the event.

Sligo squash open starts friday 26/02/10

Hi everyone,

Just letting everyone know that the Sligo Squash Open is on this weekend at the club. So if you would like to come down and view some high quality competitive squash featuring some of the best players in Ireland then please come and enjoy the fun. The Bar will be open all weekend and there should be plenty of craic. So come on down to the club and cheer on all the Sligo lads as they take on the cream of the crop in Ireland.
A great weekend is in store. Also well done to John, Keith and Paddy on their slick organisation of the event.

Crested club polo shirts and rainwear

Just a reminder that you can now purchase Club crested polo shirts and rainwear for € 25 (1 week waiting time). Samples are available to view at reception. All polo shirts etc come in all sizes and in a range of colours. All the club crests are stitched for added quality.
